Regular Monthly Meeting
June 22, 2009
Botsford Fire Department

Commissioners Present:  Goosman, Dugan, Burton, McCulloch, O’Keefe and Wlasuk

Absent:  Cragin

Marshals Present:  Frampton, Halstead and Ober

The meeting was called to order by Goosman at 8:05 p.m.

Minutes
Motion: Walsuk moved that the minutes of May 18, 2009, be accepted.
Seconded: Dugan

Fire Marshals Report:
For the month there were 87 fire calls, 408 total incidents and 368 hours worked.
Total fees collected $80.00
36 Fire Calls, 2 Fire Investigations, 2 Follow-up Investigations, 26 Building Inspections, 18 Sight Inspections, 4 Suppression Tank or Dry Hydrant Inspections, 3 Tank Removals, 5 Follow-up Inspections, 282 Office (phone, reports, meetings etc.), 5 Plan Reviews, 4 Training, 21 Other.
Halstead mentioned that Wayne called and wanted a meeting of the Firefighter Response Improvement Committee.

Budget:
Work has started for the 2010-2011 budget year. Mike Burton stated there is not a lot of money available. Committee will work to get Tanker 339 refurbished next year. The lack of large expenses like the boiler replacement should hold the bottom line. C.I.P. needs to be in by the end of August. Forms will be sent out.

Radio: None

Trucks:
Engine 551’s radiator has been repaired. Also the foam system display panel was replaced at no expense due to the efforts of former commissioner Bill McCarthy.
Tanker 559 repairs have been sent out to bid.

The board’s truck committee has met with Dodgingtown’s truck committee and finalized the specs for Truck 221.  The board’s truck committee will meet with Sandy Hook Wednesday July1st to finalize Truck 441.

Purchasing Agent:
Burton stated there are sufficient funds to upgrade the phone numbers for the alarm systems.

Public Participation:

Mike McCarthy wanted to let everyone in the Emergency Services know that the Black Swan will have a Chili Cook Off after Labor Day.

Jeff Dugan wanted to discuss having a meeting of the Firefighter Response Improvement committee. Lisa said it was not on the agenda. He was allowed to ask that it be added. There was no second.
There was a brief discussion on the C.I.P forms.
